Here is the reason for the bounce effect: As sealed batteries age from use pressures inside the cell increase. Eventually the end of alkaline battery case will swell from the increased pressure, and in some cases leak fluid. Alkaline batteries often will not leak IF they do not have a load connected. This is why they leak fluid in clocks and in other places where current is always being drawn from them. These batteries probably will not bounce, since the pressure inside has been relieved. This pressure effect is not confined to alkaline batteries. I recently had two AA Nickel-Metal-Hydride batteries leak a white residue inside a expense self-cleaning, Braun rechargeable razor. Yet the batteries were still functional and still held a charge. I only discovered this when I opened the razor to fix a blue LED lens that popped inside. Razor is 5 years old. Total repair cost was about $10.00 for the two new batteries I installed. As pressures inside a battery increase, pressure adds more bounce to the battery. This is similar to the way a car inflated tire bounces on a cement garage floor when dropped, while a flat tire does nothing.
Prime tech accumulators area unit the favored among the Solar Batteries manufacturers in India. Solar batteries are designed with strong and esthetically superior plastic Co compound instrumentality. These batteries area unit featured with serious duty tubular plates for glorious cycle life.

Maybe because the durecell has a round bottom causing it to fall over...that's my bet!

ReplyDeleteA good or "bed" battery, he says.
ReplyDeleteit bounces because it has less carbon inside
ReplyDeleteDoes it matter what the surface is? Any hard surface?
ReplyDeleteHow come he holds the good battery low to the surface & drops it & when he drops the bad battery he holds it up much higher???
ReplyDeleteThe bad battery falls over because it is to "weak" to stand up!! (run and hides) ;-)
